• The TarHeel Voices, a singing group from UNC- Chapel Hill, visited our campus. They performed 6 songs for the students and staff. Following the performance, they held a Q & A session with middle school.

  • In December, our students made and mailed cards to a dad who was deployed with our armed forces. When the dad returned home in March, he visited our classroom, brought gifts and taught us about Nigeria.

  • National Junior Honor Society Inducted 11 new members on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.

Canned Food Drive
Moncure School's Relay for Life Team and Cora Food Pantry are teaming together to collect canned food.  Please bring in canned goods during the week of March 30-April 2, 2015.  We appreciate your support.  
National Junior Honor Society Inducts New Members
On March 17, 2015, at 8:30 AM, eleven new members were inducted into Moncure's Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.  These students were chosen based on the display of five qualities:  scholarship, citizenship, leadership, character, and service.  The students inducted at this ceremony were Taylor Godwin, Luz Gonzalez Rodriguez, Guadalupe Gonzalez Rodriguez, Olivia Marsh, Bailey Hawley, Sarah Moore, Brooks Johnson, Evan Bollinger, Hannah Austin, Madeline Cleven, and Suzanne Wylie.  After the ceremony, refreshments were served for parents and NJHS members.

At Moncure School, we always welcome volunteers.  Parents, grandparents, community members, retired teachers have served as gracious volunteers over the years at our school.  We still encourage this involvement.  To be a volunteer at our school this year,  you must register on the following web site  https://appgarden2.app-garden.com/VolTrackNC190.nsf .  This registration is a requirement of Chatham County Schools for ALL volunteers-including parents and other relatives of students.  If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Gregory at mgregory@chatham.k12.nc.us.
